Golden Year

Golden Year is the first year of study at AP University. It is a full academic year that combines knowledge with practical experience and personal growth.

It is a European university-based program, where the first year of study is modified to reflect modern realities. Unlike traditional university programs, where, for example, first-year philosophy students study the dates of thinkers’ lives, in the Golden Year, they study the philosophy of conscious choice — that is, how to apply philosophical ideas in their own lives, make informed decisions, and build a future based on critical thinking.

We bring in renowned experts from various fields to conduct a series of master classes. This allows students to get hands-on experience with different professions and understand which one best suits their abilities and values. After the first year, students can continue studying their chosen major, or if they realize that it is not what they want, they can transfer to another major.

Upon completion of their studies, students receive an academic certificate that entitles them to enroll directly in the second year of any Ukrainian or European university (provided they make up for any academic differences if they change majors).

Advantages of the Golden Year program

Students have up to one year to decide whether a chosen profession is right for them and may transfer to another field without losing a year of study. In case of transfer, they are only required to complete any academic differences. Afterward, students can transfer directly to the second year of any Ukrainian or international university.

The university cooperates with youth organizations such as AIESEC, which offer international internships, volunteer projects, and training and employment opportunities in many countries worldwide.
