Terms and conditions of admission to Slovakia

Higher education in Slovakia stands out from its neighbors due to its greater decentralization. Here, each higher education institution sets its own rules regarding admission deadlines and requirements for applicants. Therefore, the rules of the admission campaign should only be found on the official websites of universities. Applicants from Ukraine have the opportunity to enter Slovak higher education institutions after the 11th grade.

Ukrainians who have obtained a bachelor’s degree in their home country are allowed to enroll in a master’s program without additional nostrification requirements (with the exception of a few specialties). However, this will not be easy if the student has poor foreign language skills.

Advantages of studying in Slovakia

Unlike other European countries where Ukrainians study, Slovakia has a simplified system for recognizing educational levels. Therefore, our applicants can enroll there without nostrification.

But this is not the only advantage:

Financial accessibility

Tuition is free for both bachelor’s and master’s programs.

Stress-free admission

There is no need to take the NMT or entrance exams — usually, confirmation that the graduate has a complete secondary education is sufficient.

Support

Students often receive scholarships of up to €1,000 per year, as well as an ISIC international student card, which provides many benefits, such as free train travel in all EU countries.

Academic mobility projects

Participation in the ERASMUS+ and Work and Travel programs. Thus, studying in Slovakia levels the playing field for Ukrainians with other students.

Study + work

The opportunity to work legally, even while studying, for a certain number of hours per week.

High standard of living and easy integration

It is not difficult to get along with the locals — it’s like being at home. But financial factors, comfort in everyday life, and the general mood of society all have a more positive outlook.

What will the admission campaign look like with us?

We objectively select a specialty and a higher education institution, taking into account the student’s prospects and the situation on the labor market.

We determine the level of foreign language proficiency, teach, prepare, and take a language exam.

We collect and prepare documents and monitor the application process.

We help you find accommodation, complete your enrollment, and adapt to your new environment.

We stay in touch throughout your first year.

Why is it easy to enroll abroad with AP University?

Slovakia offers education for Ukrainians at many institutions, but it is difficult to enroll there on your own without a high level of foreign language proficiency. Enrollment abroad is different from ours. And the absence of the NMT does not make it easier than enrollment in Ukraine, because in order to enroll in a European university, a person outside the EU educational context needs experience. We have that experience.

We show the way in the chaos of professions

The modern market space is dynamic, niches are changing, and newcomers can’t keep up. We advise them and give them relevant suggestions.

We free them from tons of paperwork

Young people’s lives are online. Europe is less digitized than Ukraine, and admission there is unbearably bureaucratic. With us, it is easier for students to collect documents, so they won’t make mistakes.

We open up new opportunities

Most Ukrainian students are unaware of the wide range of opportunities available to them. Exchange programs are created for everyone, not just a select few. We prepare those who wish to participate and submit the documents.

We give you the key to the international arena

We have been teaching people foreign languages for over six years, and it changes their lives. Now we are changing the lives of students.

Frequently asked questions and answers about studying in Slovakia

What documents are required to enroll in a Slovak university?

To take the first step toward higher education in Slovakia, you must provide the institution with the following documents: a certificate of complete secondary education with an appendix and an extract with grades from grades 8 to 11, an autobiography in Czech or English, academic awards for grades 10 and 11, a foreign passport, a national passport/ID card, a registration certificate, and a digital photo. Be sure to check the list with the specific institution.

What level of language proficiency is required: Slovak or English?

For effective learning, successful adaptation, and career opportunities, it is recommended to have a language proficiency level of at least B1. This level will ensure a full understanding of the course material, and you can choose the language.

Do you help with applying for a student visa to Slovakia?

Yes, because the process of obtaining a Slovak visa is quite complicated. In order to leave and start studying, you need to do everything correctly from start to finish, because a serious mistake will cost you time, which is usually important in such matters.

We cannot risk other stages of the process, so we take control of all the most difficult aspects ourselves.

Where are Slovak diplomas recognized outside the country?

Slovak diplomas are recognized by the countries of the European Union, the USA, Switzerland, as well as countries with which Slovakia has concluded agreements on mutual recognition of education: Croatia and Serbia. In most cases, the nostrification procedure, as in our country, takes place automatically or according to a simplified scheme.

Are there programs for applicants who do not know Slovak?

Yes, Slovak universities have good news for Ukrainians who do not know their national language: they offer comprehensive English-language courses. So if not Slovak, then English. You need to have a B1-B2 level of English and pass the corresponding test, so if an applicant has a lower level, our center provides comprehensive English language learning and exam preparation services.
